The Scotch Couples League

The Scotch Couples League at Pine Brook is starting off it’s inaugural season. We have set up a fun and loosely competitive outlet for you and your partner to play a round of golf and enjoy the game with other golf enthusiasts! The League will begin on Friday, June 1st and go until September 14th. Tee times will begin at 3:00PM on Fridays. League fees are $40 per person or $80 per team. Fees will be spent on food and beverages for the cookout, prizes, tracking handicaps, and the general management of the league. After that you just pay each week as you go. Green fees are listed as follows:

9 holes walking – $13.00
9 holes riding – $20.00

Senior 9 hole walking – $10.00
Senior 9 holes riding – $15.00

This is a Scotch Stroke Play format. You can think of Scotch Stroke Play as a scramble off the 1st tee, then alternate shots into the hole. A team of Golfer A and Golfer B will both hit drives off the tee. Let’s say Golfer A had the best drive on Hole 1. Golfer B will pick up their golf ball and the two teammates will play only one ball the rest of the way. Since the team will be playing Golfer A’s drive, Golfer B will be the next player up. After golfer B hits, golfer A will be the next one up and so on until the team holes out. The team with the lowest combined net score at the end of the round wins. Each team will receive 1 point for an outright win and 1 point for the overall net winner of the match. An additional point is automatically awarded for both team members showing up and playing on Friday during scheduled league times.

There will be a Regular Season Championship and a Playoff Championship. The Regular Season Championship will be determined by the most points scored throughout the season. The Playoff Championship will be a bracket based double elimination tournament. We will also host two fun days throughout the year where we host a (4) man scramble with a cookout to follow. The cookout is all you can eat and all you can drink! We will also run a $6.00 skins and pins game each week. Skins and pins are completely voluntary so you can sign up at your own discretion.
